The Towards a Creative Dún Laoghaire project, funded by the Creative Ireland Creative Communities Economic Development Fund. Project aim: Exploring new ways to deepen the relationship between IADT and Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council, and enable IADT graduates and other creatives to stay working in and with Dún Laoghaire. The ‘Creative Ireland’ funded project titled ‘Towards a Creative Dún Laoghaire’ was a collaboration between IADT and Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council. Researchers Justyna Doherty and Ella Fitzpatrick and have been conducting a qualitative study to explore ways to build the Creative Economy in Dún Laoghaire. Using a variety of participatory design methods, they have engaged with various stakeholders in Dún Laoghaire town and IADT campus to understand what creativity can do for the future. Data has been gathered from the exploratory research interviews, expert panel discussion and week-long workshops.
